There's an annual outdoor art exhibit near our home at Carkeek Park that provides the opportunity for several artists to esthetically engage with a park setting. It's particularly a great venue for emerging artists to explore concepts in a relatively low-pressure, high-visibility setting. Though it's been going on for 8 years now, the past couple years the number of projects has been reduced due to funding and vandalism issues.
I'm thinking perhaps some version of this could be initiated at Oak Tree Park. Considering the overall effort to deal with the park & trail with permanent works (and the much smaller scale and relative obscurity of Oak Tree Park), this would need to be a smaller, focused initiative. Perhaps working with 1-2 local artists...
